This is a ticket to join us for a BFOP special event… the first of its kind EVER.
As you probably know, Croydon Camera House are one of the key players in helping us bring BFOP together. You may also know that we like to piss-fart around, have a cheeky beverage and get up to shenanigans. So with this in mind we are throwing a Mystery Special Event that will take us from the Melbourne CBD in the morning through to the official Croydon Camera House birthday event in the afternoon where they have all the big brands, presentations, workshops etc running. We’ve decided to keep our part of this shindig a secret… you’re just going to have to trust us. What you DO need though is:
- The ability to meet in the CBD in the morning and stick with us through to the evening (we suggest public transport)
- An interest in interesting photography
- A Mykie (or however you spell it) public transport card with enough moula for a full day train ticket loaded onto it
- A camera with a portrait lens (or just a general one… whatever)
- The enthusiasm for a good sing and dance
- A bag of money to purchase stuff from Camerahouse to help celebrate their birthday (optional)
- Enough fitness to walk/limp/wheel for 3-4km over the morning and smile/laugh/play whilst doing it
ROUGH TIMING (Will likely change a little but not dramatically):
9:30am – Meet outside State Library (Melb CBD)
10:00am – Artsy activity
11:15am – Walk to Flinders Street Station with a skip in your step (and some street photography)
12:00pm – Quick bite to eat and maybe a cheeky beverage
12:45pm – Head to Flinders St station
1:00pm – Train to Croydon with mystery activity (this should be a good laugh)
2:00pm – Arrive in stitches at Croydon Station for our final parade down to Camera House
2:30pm – 5:00pm Arrive at Camera House for their event (workshops/demos/talks etc)
The BFOP event wraps up when we get to CH but Nick and I are sticking around for the day and Nigel has invited everyone to join their cocktail party at 6:30pm after their expo wraps up. This part is organised by Camera House and you’ll need to RSVP on the link we will send you. Then there will no doubt be a ton of BFOPers heading back city bound by train or taxi if you’re a bit posh.
